Needs Must When the Devil Shits in Your Cornflakes

Hi all,

It’s M.T. here. Just a quick message to let you all know that I still exist. In case you were questioning my radio silence of late, my novel, The Fleshmarket Vampire (TFV) is still very much upcoming, but the intended release date had to be altered slightly.

The last few months have been a bit of a rollercoaster at home, and so releasing TFV had to take a temporary back seat to real life, especially when the Devil shits in your Cornflakes.

Since Christmas;

I have been tested for cancer (which thankfully the biopsy came back as negative).

My wife has fallen pregnant (Yayyyy!). We had just started trying, but I didn’t expect to be successful after just one month of trying!

Just a week after receiving that good news, we were made involuntarily homeless (When our landlord decided that he was tired of living with his parents – aww diddums).

We have since found a new home after a couple of months searching, but all of my time and finances have gone towards this.

In between bouts of Chickenpox and Flu (Which hospitalized my wife), and my toddler breaking my only laptop, we have had to spend countless hours and constant stress trying to get all manner of teething problems sorted with the new house as we move to a new area of Edinburgh.

As a result my Bipolar Disorder has been going absolutely mental which means life has been Hell on earth, and the resulting sheer exhaustion has been debilitating itself.

Happily, things look to be settling down again now. As a result, I can look forward to kickstarting my novel release again. At this point, due to extremely limited funds, I’ll be most likely looking at a Summer/Autumn release date for the novel. If I can release it sooner, then all the better.

I’ll be selling special limited edition The Fleshmarket Vampire branded bookmarks at £2 per bookmark. All funds will go into marketing the novel. If you are interested, or think that you can help a brother out with some free marketing, please get in touch!

Love to you all,

M.T. x
